July 18, 2006 Board Meeting Minutes
Attendees: Tiffany Nickel, James Watson, Jenny Kreutzer, Dennis Brungardt, Denis Cleary, Barney Hoss
June 06 Minutes: Minutes were unanimously approved as read.
Old Business:
- Tennis Tournament—Thank Yous
- Sponsor Money:
- Last Minute Collections: UBS, Joey Jackson-Tiffany will follow up with Joey, KS Truck
- Hotels:
- Wichita Suites-Bad Bathrooms. One player was injured trying to use one.
- Wichita Sports Commission, thank you for efforts, desserts. 9 players used the service
- Transportation of players: One player needed transportation, but failed to tell anyone.
- Follow up Letters: Grady not here to discuss. Tiffany will talk to him off line.
- Food
- Misc. Expenses: Drinks (Gaterade and Soda)
- Thanks and picture to Outback – James has pictures he will send to Tiffany.
- Volunteers/ Boy Scouts: Increase responsibilities to include ball shagging for at least part time next year.
- Banners: We were missing banners: PVA, Applebees, ILRC – Mark has them.
- Shirt Wrap-up: All board members were reimbursed for purchased shirts
- Barney moved that WSI reimburse the Watson’s for one night stay for the tournament. Denis Cleary seconded it.
- Equipment Storage and Care Procedures: Deferred
- Business Cards: Tiffany to hand out on Aug
- Bylaw meeting at Tiffany’s – August 5, 1 -3 p.m. Lunch Provided
- Summer Splash: July 21 – 22
- Volunteers for handcycling. Mark Seaver to run the clinic with help from Home Medical. He has 4 bikes, waiver, and tools
- Be available from 6-8 Friday and Saturday evenings
- Quickie rep bringing a Shark
- Health & Abilities Fair – July 28-29 – Sedgwick County Extension Office
- Friday: Tim and Tiffany
- Saturday: James and Jenny in the panel 9 – noon; Mark and Dennis B. in the booth.
- Mark to drop off bike and blocks from Dale
- Bowling Extravaganza: Aug. 12 Countryside Lanes 1-3 p.m.
- Paid for by Countryside Lanes
- Tiffany and Tim to do the flyers
New Business
- Handcycling Events: None to report
- Venture Club: Jenny does not have the capacity to work on this. Denis Cleary said he would try to recruit some members.
- Tennis: There is interest to continue the lessons. Jenny talked with the participants and instructor and there is interest in continuing for another 5 weeks.
- Jenny moved that we continue lessons for another 5 weeks and charge the participants $10. Mark & James seconded. The motion passed via email vote.
- Wayne Levett: Grady to get a bid from Wayne for a tennis junior chair. Will review next meeting.
August Meeting Cancelled
Next meeting: September 19th, 5:45 p.m. at Via Christi Rehab (OLOL).
