June 20, 2006 Board Meeting Minutes
                
Attendees: Tiffany Nickel, James Watson, Jenny Kreutzer, Dennis Brungardt, Denis Cleary, Barney Hoss, Mark Seaver,

Guests: Tammy Watson, Grady Landrum, Tim Surry

Treasurer’s report:

  • WSI has invested in two CDs from Fidelity Bank. Dennis Brungardt and Tiffany Nickel have authority to withdraw on these. The APR is set at 5.2%.

May 06 Minutes: All motions were approved. Minutes were unanimously approved as read.

Old Business:

  • Tennis Tournament—June 23-25th Riverside Tennis Center
    • Sponsor Money:
      • Dennis B. has $'s in sponsor money to deposit
    • Banners: Have them all brought to courts by 11 a.m. on Friday
      • James to bring WSI banner
      • Barney to bring Via Christi & ILRC banners
      • Jenny to get Coleman and Panera Bread banner
      • Dennis B. to bring Churches banner
    • Prizes
      • Shirts/hats at flying colors
      • Shirts at Wichita Shirt/Cap
      • James, Tammy, & Rebecca will setup the prizes at the banquet
      • Via e-mail vote: James made a motion to purchase 250 tennis ball key chains and Jenny 2nd.
    • Volunteer Schedule
      • Boy Scouts confirmed to help. Schedule of when they will be available to come later in the week.
      • Tiffany will arrange for others to help as well
    • Food
      • Tiffany will get lunch/snacks for Friday
      • Dennis B. to organize Churches for Friday night
      • Jenny to pick up Krispi Kreme & Panera Bread for Sat/Sun breakfast
      • LeRoy to pick up lunch on Saturday from CitiBites
      • LeRoy to pick up lunch on Sunday from Little Ceasers
      • Wichita Sports Commission providing desserts on Friday and Saturday
    • Up/Down
      • Food: Churches 15% discount – Mark Seaver to pick up by 5:30 p.m. on Friday
      • Drinks: 5 cases of soda – Jenny to pick up
      • Dinnerware: Tiffany will handle
    • Banquet
      • Food: Outback is ready
      • Drinks: Tammy & Rebecca will get drinks ready
      • Dinnerware: Tiffany will handle
      • Discussed reimbursement of player banquet money, but decided not to do it.
    • Player Transportation: Barney and Grady will work together – No one indicated they will need a ride
    • Drinks
      • Tim will sponsor water again this year (500 bottles)
      • Jenny will get Gatorade (about 40 bottles and 3 cans of powdered Gatorade)
    • Coolers/ice: Barney to coordinate
    • Prize Money
      • Grady put together two proposals.
      • Dennis B. abstained from the vote
      • Barney moved and Denis C. 2nd that we move forward with $'s total prize money to be given out.
  • Social Wrap-Up – None given
  • Equipment Procedure: Revisit in July. James will look into a storage unit
  • Bylaws meeting: Decided to have a special meeting on August 5, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Tiffany’s house to discuss this.

 

New Business

  • ILRC Resource Fair, July 28 - 29
    • WSI has decided to participate in this event
    • Tim can help
    • More information to come via email
  • Summer Splash, July 21 – 22
    • Via Christi would like WSI to do a handcycle clinic and would waive WSI’s financial commitment in lieu of volunteers for the handcycle and we will put a blurb on the website.
    • Will need additional volunteers to help

  • Bowling Bonanza, August 12
    • David Storm coordinating. Tiffany will make the flyer and get them out. Tim will help. Will be at 21st and Maize CountrySide Lanes

  • Handcycling: Nothing new to discuss

  • Walk and Stroll: James will look into this.
